Competing in collegiate athletics can be rough on an athlete's body. Thankfully, there are athletic trainers to help keep athletes in optimal health. Certified athletic trainers are allied health care professionals who specialize in the prevention, assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries and illnesses. The National Athletic Trainers Association designated March as National Athletic Training Month to recognize Athletic Trainers and their role in providing quality care for athletes. This month was created to ensure the quality of health care for athletes and those engaged in physical activity and to advance the profession of athletic training through education, research and prevention, evaluation, management and rehabilitation of injuries. Eastern Washington University would like to acknowledge our Certified Athletic Trainers for providing quality health care to our athletes every day.

MISSION STATEMENT
The Athletic Training Service Program at EWU will function to provide optimal health care to the university intercollegiate student-athletes. The program is responsible for injury education, prevention, recognition, evaluation, management, and rehabilitation, as well as facility management and program administration. Additional responsibilities of the program will include serving as Approved Clinical Instructors in the Athletic Training Education Program at EWU. Lastly, the program will also function to promote the profession of athletic training as well as the education program to the Cheney community and surrounding area.
