The Eastern Washington University men’s tennis team wrapped up play at the three-day EWU/GU Classic in Cheney, Wash., on Sunday (Oct. 5) with some impressive performances.

A pair of Eagles advanced to the final of the singles bracket, Pannhara Mam and Kyle Schraeder.

Mam earned wins over Wes Nomi (Seattle University), Conor Feeney (Gonzaga), Mikolaj Borkowski (Montana) and Stanislav Glukhov (Idaho), while Schraeder was victorious over Kevin Anderson (EWU), Daniel Pez (EWU), Artem Kusnetsov (Idaho) and Robert Chalkley (Idaho). The final was not played, which is often the case when players from the same team advance to a tournament final.

Eagle players also found success in doubles play. Advancing to the semifinals were Art Karas and Nico Riego de Dios, while a pair of teams played themselves into the quarterfinal round: Mam and Schraeder, as well as Kenneth Norling and Daniel Pez.

The Eagles are slated to play at the Montana Invitational from Friday-Sunday (Oct. 10-12).
