Peterson Places Sixth in the Javelin at National Meet

 


Amanda Peterson finished sixth with a throw of 152-10 at the USA Junior Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

Amanda Peterson of the Eastern Washington University track and field team finished sixth in the javelin Friday (June 20) at the 2008 USA Junior Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Columbus, Ohio.

The freshman from Gig Harbor, Wash., had a throw of 152-10 to finish sixth out of 14. Peterson is currently ranked sixth in school history with a toss of 154-5 she had in her second collegiate meet April 5 at the Al Manuel Invitational in Missoula, Mont.

She made her first appearance at the NCAA West Regional Championships in late May in Northridge, Calif., Peterson finished 10th with a throw of 150-10. At the 2008 Big Sky Conference Outdoor Championships earlier that month, she placed fourth with a throw of 147-7.
