2007: Brown was named to the Big Sky Conference's All-Academic team. She played well in successive matches versus Utah State and San Francisco, compiling eight and five kills, respectively, in those contests. In the Utah State match, Brown hit at an impressive .385 (8-3-13) clip. Versus the USF Dons, she had a season-best seven digs in the contest. Late in the season, she took over on the left side for injured Chelsea Ross. Her top performance came in her first match following that incident, when she hit .400 (11-1-25) in a four-game win over Montana State. Two matches later, Brown set a season high in kills with 16 against Northern Colorado. In three of the last four contests of the season, she had 10+ kills, tallying 11, 13 and 14, respectively, against Portland State, Sacramento State and Northern Arizona. Her performance in the latter contest helped the Eagles to a dramatic comeback 3-2 win over Northern Arizona in the Big Sky quarterfinals.
High School: Brown was named to the 2B All-State first team and was the Most Valuable Player of the North Central League. She also earned MVP honors in basketball. Each of those teams placed sixth at state her senior season. In the state track meet, she finished fourth in the 400-meter run and eighth in the long jump as a junior, seventh in the high jump as a senior. Brown was a finalist for the NCW (North Central Washington) Athlete of the Year award. She is the daughter of Penny and Gary Brown and plans to major in recreational management. Her sister, Laney, is a freshman on the 2008 EWU squad.
